Reaching 1% Giving
Community spirit and a deeply seated sense of 'doing good' is at the heart of Australian culture. Many benefit from our strong social safety net, high median wealth and high minimum wage. Despite this, recent reports show that Australia leads almost every comparable nation in living standards, yet lags behind in charitable giving.
One Percent Kinder seeks to even this keel. We've found that there are many reasons that charitable donation figures are below par. Lack of transparency in expenditure, complex reporting frameworks and 'pester power' engagement strategies are all barriers to committed giving. OPK solves all of these issues. Easy single sign up, single donation and research into charities done for you.
What is the easiest way to give?
One Percent Kinder simplifies the giving process. Givers sign up for a single monthly donation which can be shared among all OPK charities or targeted only to a specific need or indeed, specific charity.
This process is straightforward, transparent and comes without the 'pester power' methods used in traditional fundraising methods.
Which charities should I give to?
In addition to personal connection with cause, our research has indicated that trustworthiness and transparency of impact is a key driver on which charities donors choose to give to.
Charities featured on OPK will be assessed for effectiveness, impact and transparency using existing reporting and impact frameworks.
How much money should I give?
Givers can nominate a monthly percentage of approximate income, or indeed, a dollar value that feels most comfortable for them.
